Solar Mars Bot is a service robot that provides power whenever needed. At the moment, the efficiency of photovoltaic power generated is affected by many factors from the angle of light, direct/indirect light, or dirt. This project combines photovoltaic and energy storage then turn it into a service robot. It is super adaptable in different environment, the robot would improve its photoelectric conversion efficiency, it has become more intelligent and efficient electricity experience.
As an energy storage robot, Solar Mars Bot is smart and automatic. It features photovoltaic panels with an automatic light tracking system, they maximize power generation without manual intervention on sunny days. At night, Solar Mars Bot is able to detect its power at night, and plan its path to charge when necessary.
Designed by Wei Bai, Tao Xu and Xiaowei Yin, Solar Mars Bot is equipped with 4G modules, sensors, and various ports that allow it to track and move through different locations. The top part is equipped with six photovoltaic panels, connected by rod motors. This robot would locate the best sun light irradiation angle by using light-tracking sensor, then mechanical arm cooperates with the wheels and folds out its solar panels and start absorbing energy, keeping it inside its power storage.
Whenever a user needs extra power, they can use an app to call Solar Mars Bot. It can easily avoid outdoor obstacles, plan its route smartly to the destination.
