Ada Autonomous Vehicle designed with specific material for the exterior body as well as configurations in the interior. It features glazed ceiling and doors, inside, they are supported by a stable frame to ensure the safety of the passengers. The exterior shell of the car including the ceiling are made of transparent auxetic type material that corresponds to the interior.
This special material makes the car looks alive. It shrinks and expands to meet different functions in the car. The trunk part and the front cover don’t have hinges or dividing lines with the roof, they are one whole part. Therefore, when these parts are opened, the material would shrink.
Teodora Todorova, the designer, said that the research started with gradual emergence of automobiles, different classifications of speed, drive, and engine. The dashboard displays most necessary communicative elements, helping driver to focus on what’s important but ignoring other activities in the car.
As an electric vehicle, Ada Autonomous Car has threads embedded in the ceiling with micro solar cells. This installation provides the car with a larger capacity and a full range, when the batteries run out of charge and solar charge passes, this vehicle turns into energy-saving mode. The charger is located in the rear of the vehicle.
