Grace Kayin teamed up with an ETH Zurich spin-off company MITHRAS technology in Switzerland to design and develop Heat-sync, a thermoelectric energy watch. It’s an e-paper smartwatch that utilizes thermoelectric technology to convert user body’s heat into electrical energy. It means that this watch will have an autonomous energy supply. Just wear it, you don’t have to worry about replacing its battery.
Heat-sync watch by Grace Kayin is a concept watch that visualizes and reinforce the main principle of thermoelectric technology (TEG). That copper and graphene coating on the watch band collects heat from user’s wrist and the stainless steel case works as a heatsink for cooling. It’s possible to generate energy through temperature difference between the case and the band. Heat-sync Watch features 60 fins that echo with the minute hand.
