Jaguar XJR-19 LMP1 Concept Race Car for The Year of 2020

2020 Jaguar XJR-19 LMP1 concept race car is Mark Hostler’s independent design project as a design proposal for Le mans racer. This Staffordshire University graduate was inspired by XJR-9 and XJR-12 during the design process as you can see the similar smooth shape that forms into a rectangular form. You can read description of this project with his own words.

In 1988 and 1990, the Silk Cut Jaguar factory team ended 8 years of Porsche dominance at Le Mans with the iconic XJR-9 and XJR-12 group C racers. The XJR-19 is a prototype race car concept for the year 2020, to celebrate 30 years since Jaguar’s last win at the legendary 24hr Le Mans race.

The design process of the XJR-19 was heavily influenced by the XJR-9 and XJR-12, focusing on cutting a smooth, fluid shape into a primarily rectangular form. This created a central pod consisting of the passenger cell and drivetrain, suspended between a skeleton of sharp, flat surfaces that echo the slab sided group C racers of the 1980s and 90s.

Impossible Folding Bike Is Compact Enough to Fit Your Backpack

This circular design for the frame has been chosen to make sure that the bike spreads the weight equally across the frame. The seat position is placed at similar heights to the handle, in this way, both front and rear wheels could bear your weight equally. Carbon fiber is used as primary material for the frame in order to create lightweight frame, this bike is able to accommodate a maximum weight of 85kg or 180 pounds.

nThree Electric Vehicle Offers The Comfort of A Car with The Cost of An E-Bike

nThree electric vehicle aims to provide you with affordable, personal vehicle that features the comfort of a car yet with the cost of an e-bike. It sounds pretty ambitious and interesting, doesn’t it? Let’s read what these designers have to say about the project.

Following the recent electric revolution of lightweight vehicles around the world, the nThree is a new design, following the very successful nCycle e-bike concept. With the irreversible process of global economies turning towards renewable energy, the way we see and use the city has already changed and is set to do so dramatically in the next few years.

With our increased awareness and sensitivity towards energy consumption, courtesy among others of the most recent economic crisis, in the last 4-5 years, personal transportation has begun a slow but steady drift away from the model we have come to know in the past century. The 10s and hundreds of new e-bikes and electric cars like the Renault Twizy or Toyota i-Road have shown the way to a more personal and conscious approach. Our new concept builds on the characteristics and refines the strengths of these vehicles to bring electric power even closer to the mass market.

Small electric cars, tricycles and quadricycles all suffer from the same inherent drawback; they are meant to be cheap and affordable but they end up being expensive like real cars because they are BUILT like real cars. The mission on the nThree was to address these conceptual and design shortcomings and design an affordable, single-seat electric vehicle that would offer all (or most) of the comforts of an electric car at the cost of an e-bike.

To achieve the objectives, the nThree electric vehicle was built with a simplistic approach reminiscent on the nCycle. In first place, the vehicle was reduced to the most essential stable geometry of three wheels to reduce cost. Even though the latest small electrics are a great way to move around the urban areas, there is something about these offerings that does not look great at all: Price. Starting from about 7000 Euros and above these 1-2 seaters cost almost as much as a cheap standard car and more than many used ones in good condition.

Lamborghini Egoista Concept Car HOMAGE FOR LAMBORGHINI'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

The upper part of the vehicle does not have aerodynamic appendages, but rather flaps integrated in the bodywork profile which acts automatically depending on the driving conditions. Two rear flaps activate automatically at high speeds to increase stability, while a series of air intakes on the back of the engine hood provides the cooling air flow to the powerful V10 power plant. While the front of the vehicle has a profile intended to increase downforce, the rear is fully open with the mechanics in view, reducing weight but also with the result of creating a more aggressive look.

Dispatch Utility Vehicle for Underground Mine Environment

In the underground mining industry, few good solutions exist for personnel transport and service utility vehicles, and even fewer for ambulances. Dispatch utility vehicle fulfills the current need for a specialized solution that addresses the needs of personnel transport, emergency ambulance, and service utility vehicle for the underground mine environment; all in one vehicle, maximizing use of the vehicle and freeing up space in the mine.

Dispatch Utility Vehicle does not have a designated front end, allowing it to drive right up to an emergency site or tight work space and not have to back out or turn around; the driver switches the driver console to the other end of the vehicle. The mobile driver console can be attached at either end of the vehicle and used remotely when needed, and also operates the overhead crane – integrated into the roof structure.

Independent Wheelchair Assist (IWA) : Motorized Add-on for Wheelchair by Oscar Fernandez

For wheelchair bound people, it would be great to be able to travel freely to destination outside their home independently. Independent Wheelchair Assist (IWA) is more like a motorized add-on, a temporary power assist device for manual wheelchair users in developed countries. Simply attach IWA from the rear using a small bracket to user’s wheelchair, this bracket slides into the mechanism located at the back of the device. So as the user moves forward, this system lifts the two front castor wheels above the ground then the bracket locks and secures the chair, distributing weight evenly across the four large wheels from IWA and user’s wheelchair. In this way, wheelchair user can easily travel outside his or her house and faster. Simply disconnect IWA when the destination is reached.
