UP Adjustable School Furniture Set for Schools in Taiwan

As a school furniture set, UP has been designed to be adjustable to meet different height of school children, from 120 to 180cm. The design also makes the furniture stackable, it would dramatically save costs and reduce environmental burden by recycling more than 80% of these old desks and chairs. UP is easy to assemble, even those little students can easily assemble/adjust their own furniture since early age. This mechanism helps deepen students’ understanding of Taiwan’s natural resources and encourages them to appreciate limited resources.

Mu-En Lin, a Taiwanese industrial designer, uses metal joints and wood wear to develop UP. Those metal joints are strong enough to support students with a height from 120 to 180cm. The different arrangement of the legs makes this furniture stackable, reducing the risk of furniture damage caused by excessive stacking as well as personal accidents. Every detail has been carefully considered to adapt to current education policy, all the table legs are designed in away that can be placed inward for highly unform desktop for group discussions.
