Pod is a designed study for KIA, a concept car for urban environment. Nowadays, it’s a common thing to see that many people who live in cities have to deal with limited space. They also have to deal with monotonous movement, home-office, office-home, busy lifestyle and most of them are disconnected with their surroundings due to their intense jobs. Keeping this in mind, it makes sense to come up with a compact city car that provides user with a new experience in their daily life, the main keyword would be “mobility” and “space expansion”.
Designed by Junseok Park, Pod Concept Car wants to encourage people to meet with someone, working, and resting. Social life matters, it is an important part when it comes to our mental health, it promotes safety, belonging, and security. The concept vehicle started with the idea of daily life in nature through mobility, it’s vehicle that can handle both on-road and off-road with ease, it should be ideal for daily driving as well as weekend gateaway. This vehicle is designed with three modular parts that’s interchangeable depending on user activity. It’s also possible for user to interchange some parts with other drivers, starting a good communication where they can interact with others.
