Sky OV Evo is a futuristic transonic airplane concept designed as the next generation of commercial airplanes. This airplane could be radically “disruptive” than current airplanes. Everything that we often see in Sci-fi movies would be real, from engines, fuselages, power sources, and any other futuristic aviation systems. Today’s aviation industry doesn’t seem to progress as fast as automotive industry, why is it difficult to continue the supersonic commercial travel legacy which was introduced by the Concorde of the 1970s?
We all want faster and safer airplanes, it should be lighter, quieter, and more efficient, hence reducing the cost to travel. In the future, our experience of flying would be much different than today, it should be more comfortable, spacious, safer, and of course, much more affordable. The design of Sky OV Evo Transonic Airplane focuses on enabling those futuristic technologies along with their application for future flights.
Submitted by Oscar Viñals, Sky OV Evo Transonic Airplane Concept is based on the future proposal of the “blended wing body” with two wings over the fuselage, looking like a double arch. It’s not your conventional aircraft, it has entirely new shape that looks like similar to the “flying wing” design used by military aircraft.
To come up with new design for commercial aircraft can be extremely difficult task, there are so many things to be considered and scaled up. This new design also needs to conform to extreme rigorous safety tests that might contribute to conservative and unchanged appearance.
The blended wing body of Sky OV Evo makes it possible for the aircraft to generate lift with minimize drag. NASA also says that the shape might help increase fuel economy with possibility for larger payload whether it’s cargo or passengers.
Claimed to be able to accommodate up to 200 passengers, Sky OV Evo Airplane provides most comfortable conditions, with a multi-setting layout and all kind of commodities and luxury devices.
