Maserati just welcomed GranCabrio Folgore EV, it is claimed to be the fastest EV convertible in the world. This Italian brand has unveiled battery powered Folgore version, this model is open-top grand tourer that promises fastest electric convertible yet.
This electric coupe and convertible has the same sculpted shape just like their ICE siblings, special Folgore badging, but this time, it doesn’t have exhaust pipes. The main difference between Folgore and the rest GranCabrio line is the powertrain. The convertible utilizes the same 800-volt architecture as GranTurismo Folgore, it features three electric motors, one up front and the others are in the back, together they can produce 751 hp.
The luxurious cabin is spacious enough to accommodate four people on its 18-way adjustable seats, these seats also come with built-in neck warmers. The standard Econyl upholstery provides a premium look and feel, but you can choose to upgrade to leather. The soft top can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 31mph, it folds up compactly into the trunk to give you cargo space. Even though Maserati doesn’t mention performance numbers, but it is reported that GranCabrio Folgore EV can go from 0 to 60mph in just 2.8 seconds, 0 to 120mph in 9 seconds, and capable to reach a top speed of 181mph. Just want until the end of the year to order your Maserati GranCabrio Folgore EV.
