Colossea Megayacht is concept yacht that measures 204 meters or 699ft. in length, at the same time, the yacht also serves as a floating docking station for a detachable airship.
This special project is a tribute to the N1 airship (which later renamed Norge) that took off its first test flight from Rome 1st March 1924. Colossea is planned to be built entirely in carbon fiber, from internal structures to the exterior blimp surface. It will be moved by eight electric engine. The upper structure features a take-off/landing area shaped to the blimp’s form, a 347-foot detachable airship, providing you with best of both worlds.
When it’s time for flight, this yacht follows the procedures to unlock the electromagnetic blocks that keep the airship on its station. The captain can unhook the winches to release the airship’s lift. As a vessel, Colossea Megayacht by Lazzarini Design Studio is a sleek yacht with three HTS engines that deliver up to a maximum speed of 22 knots. Those propellers on the airship can also boost the efficiency of sailing. Since the commander cabin is shared with the airship, it makes the piloting experience seamless between the two craft.
Norge 2.0, the blimp, is named after semi-rigid Italian airship which completed its first verified trip of any kind to the North Pole, way back in May 1926. This new version has been designed to blend in with the yacht with 10 guest cabins for enjoyable flying experience for everyone on board.
Colossea Megayacht features a large patio deck where it’s possible to get access to the airship that leans on top. This futuristic project aims to combines sea and air transport, an extraordinary innovation that allows for much faster travel than conventional yacht.
