Heineken has collaborated with Bodega to present you “Boring Phone”. It’s a simple phone that takes you back to a time when you can live without your phone. The Boring Phone is specifically designed with reduced tech capabilities, as a dumb phone, it is meant to encourage people to enjoy their real life and have real connections instead of spending their time with their smartphones.

Nowadays, smartphones have become dramatically advanced that is easier than ever to connect to everyone around the world yet it’s harder to stay in the moment. Produced by European mobile innovator, Human Mobile Devices (HMD), Heineken x Bodega Boring Phone removes all distractions of today’s smartphones. It’s a dumb phone that delivers your basic need for communication, it has primary function of sending and receiving calls and text messages, that’s it.

Heineken x Bodega Boring Phone features transparent casing with holographic stickers, the design was inspired by Gen Z’s love of Newtro fashion. It is also reminiscent of mobile phones in the early 2000s. Boring Phone is unable to download social medias or any other apps that might take you away from being present with your friends/family. The standby time is a week with up to 20 hours of talk time. It’s undeniable that our smart devices have become the biggest distractions where two-thirds admit that they often check their social medias (62%) when hanging out with others, while more than a third (36%) admit that they check work emails. The rest said that they preferred to play games instead of engaging with their friends or family.

Heineken and Bodega wanted to show people that there are more to social life when you are less on your phone. The Boring Phone wants you to disconnect from online world and reclaims quality time with family, friends, or loved ones.
