Sustainable Family Farm Uses Food Waste as Fertilizer

It is estimated 125 to 160 billion pounds of food is wasted every year in U.S. alone. This food is mostly perfectly edible and nutritious yet due to over production, bad weather, or over buying, it is wasted.

Sustainable Family Farm is an innovative project that takes advantage of food waste in a household. It’s a mini indoor garden that takes advantage of food waste to produce fertilizer and household waste of water to water the plants. This process can be done at the comfort of your own home, imagine how much food you can grow and consume from that wasted food.
