According to United Nation, there are two main climate change issues, they are the melting of arctic glaciers and over-deforestation of the Amazon rainforest. Habitat Educational Toy Brick wants to bring awareness of the seriousness of ecological damage caused by human. It leads to global temperature rise, extinction of species, starvation, and many more problems. Through this toy, children can learn and understand the effects of climate change to our daily life. This young generation can develop environmental concerns and habits from early age, it is hoped that we can educate them and see the urgency of this issue.
Designed by Jia Xin, Wei Chi and Yu Chieh, Habitat is a set of toy bricks designed to send the message about climate change and its danger to our ecosystem to younger generation. It helps educate preschool children about climate action. This toy is crafted of Spanish cork bark material where there are no trees chopped down for the sake of production. The material is also antistatic that avoid dust adhere, it prevents children from asthma and allergies.
Through Habitat, children are asked to find out the problem and make ecological restoration. By assembling and constructing environmental components, all those animals can be placed back into their ecological state. This concept idea aims to help children become more aware about keeping our environment clean and beautiful.
