Boyan Slat, aerospace engineering student who’s concern with our environment has come up with possible solution to tackle our oceanic plastic pollution issue. We’re pretty sure many of us aware there are millions of tons plastic debris polluting world’s oceans, however, many of us also don’t care about it. That’s why it’s really hard to make everyone in this world to handle plastics responsibly, fortunately, some of us are good in creating technical solutions to our problems, so this is what Boyan Slat’s doing.
Plastics not only pollute the oceans but they also directly kill thousands or even millions of aquatic animals annually, they spread harmful algae and serve as transportation for pollutants. That’s why The Ocean Cleanup has been designed and developed here, it looks like a giant floating booms which covers larger areas instead of nets.

The Ocean Cleanup will be a self-efficient device, it benefits sun’s energy and waves. By letting this platform to swing following the water movements, we can ensure contacts between inlets and surfaces even in the roughest weather.
