A futuristic vertical city, here’s a concept project for the next generation of skyscraper, Shibuya Hyper CAST. 2. It’s an innovative skyscraper that displays cutting-edge urban innovations combined in one building. This tower is an existing development that’s been an urban lab of mix function and culture, it is located in the middle of one of the hottest areas in Tokyo. Even though it’s only a concept, yet, the company feels that this project has great future possibility to become a real building in modern society, yes, something for futuristic city. It demonstrates how cities can be structured and operated, perhaps in not so distant future.
Noiz Architects explains that Shibuya Hyper CAST. 2 project provides best features of vibrant downtown districts into vertical language of rapidly growing cities of the future. This tower is divided into five multiple-floor structural frames to represent distinct districts. Spaces between districts can be filled with enclosed green zones, allowing food to grow regardless the climate conditions.
This tower is designed to adapt for coexistence of digital and physical agents. All those digital and physical agents are eased by Common Ground platform, a digital twin of the building with real-time updates. These agents would result in much more efficient vertical communication, divided into multiple elements: human operating in sky lobbies system, drone shafts, and digital agents’ elevators.
Shibuya Hyper CAST. 2 offers a unique proposal for wide selection of solutions. It provides a great rational approach on how complex ownership demands can be resolved, how public-private cooperation can help improve the quality of dense cities in the future.
