Mango Street Lamp is specially designed for India. Due to monsoon climate in India, there’s a high fall that can be perfectly utilized. The number of sunny hours are plenty after rainy season, why not take advantage of it?
To define the shape, this concept uses leaves and shoots of plants, the shape of each leaf is designed in a way to drain water pretty quickly. Basically this concept aims to gather the sun power and rainwater for better use, the designer considered the shape of mango leaves in regards functionality, shape, and cultural history. Located the top area, there are solar cells and water collector installed, the stalk can divert and recycle the amount of rain. The renewable energy would then be kept inside rechargeable batteries that power the LEDs to light up the streets.
