Lighter may be better in the marine world, this new all-carbon catamaran comes with much greater fuel efficiency and speed that other cats in the same category. Laniakea Catamaran is expected to weight at just 49.5 tons with a full load. Just for comparison, other catamaran of the same size could weight around 90 tons. This is why Laniakea would use less fuel and is better for the environment.
Latitude Yachts explains that Laniakea 86Ft. Catamaran is lightweight cruiser that can easily move on shallow waters with a draft of only two feet. Thanks to its carbon material, the catamaran requires less structural support, therefore, it’s free of bulky beams and braces that might disturb your views to beautiful oceans.
The sleek and aerodynamic vessel slices through the waves just like a knife cut through a butter. The four outboard waterjet engines were designed in collaboration with BMW that produce 300hp each. The beam of 37 feet creates a generous interior with up to six guest cabins and two crew cabins. You can expect the best of furniture, amenities, and of course, jaw dropping panoramic views throughout. Owners would be able to customize the design with different finishes, materials, or layouts.
