Submitted by Nikola Djuraskovic, Modul speaker is designed on a platform that is built of five speakers inside, which are all oriented in different directions and that causes the surround sound effect. This speaker was a semestral design project on the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade. One of the main requirements of the semestral task was to build fully functional prototype.
Project started with a careful research on how people consume music in some space, how they could move around and hear the same sound, or how more people in one space could share that experience. That research provided a solid base which led to creation of the ball shaped concept inspired by the Moon.
The body of Modul speaker was made with a help of a rapid prototyping technologies, after which it was refined with a putty and finally painted in selected colors. Designed by Nikola Djuraskovic under supervision of Prof.Nikola Knezevic, all inside parts of this speaker were purchased, connected, and carefully integrated into structural speaker boxes, so the quality of sound could stay on high level.
