Inspired by Baha System, Era Sync is a wearable device that alters perception of the passage of time to its user through bone conduction technology. The system is based on the synaesthetic phenomenon, using bone conduction technology associated with a binaural frequency in order to create a visual illusion of passing time.

The constant ticking of clock can even bring us further down and lead to more stress while that to-do list lengthens relentlessly. This kind of lifestyle makes it really hard to appreciate the beauty of present moment. There are so many beautiful things that we encounter along the way, yet we ignore them because our brains are programmed to do so to focus on our busy life.

It’s a special device that allows us to modify our perception of time and adjust it according to your needs and emotions. It’s one of many ways that help us regain control of our lives simply by abandoning the current concept of time. You can see it as a way to subdivide the day instead of series of deadlines that follow one another.
Through bone conduction technology, Era Sync is able to convert electrical energy into mechanical wave energy thanks to its piezoelectric drivers that extend these energies to the inner ear where they are interpreted as sound. These vibrations are sent through our head where they are then converted into electrical impulses for our brains. This technology allows user to perceive a temporal-spatial synesthete effect. This synesthete is able to perceive time with a certain spatial disposition as it is an artificial sight with visual sensations created through the neural plasticity of the human brain.
In Era Sync, this effect is induced by a binaural audio, a sound reproduction technique that exploits human auditory perception to create a three-dimensional spatial effect, this happens because our two ears are spaced apart and receive sound slightly differently in terms of time and intensity. The brain processes these temporal and intensity differences to determine the direction from which the sound originates. Therefore, thanks to binaural audio, it’s possible to achieve a realistic and immersive sound experience in which sounds seem to come from specific positions in the three-dimensional space around the listener, including movement from one side of the head to the other.
Era Sync has an integrated app where, once you get used to the standard rhythm of the device, you will be able to speed up or slow down the movement of the vibration over time as to create a state of sensory alteration that helps maintain focus and a feeling of control in moments of high stress and a state of euphoria in moments of joy.
