ENTWURFREICH has released Mixed Reality Controller (MRC) concept, it’s a revolutionary handheld controller design that aims to open up a new level of communication. This device is more than just wearing a screen in front of your face.
Usually when illusion cast by virtual world shatters exactly when we don’t receive realistic haptic feedback. Most controllers do have integrated vibration engines, however, they are usually just good enough for a rudimentary reproduction of virtual world. MRC has been designed to explore new ways of sending more authentic and realistic virtual reality feedback to player, it’ll dramatically enhance user experience in virtual world.
Mixed Reality Controller (MRC) by ENTWURFREICH features several built-in linear motors that activate a physical reaction in the controller, a perfect respond to the virtual event. So while user wearing VR glasses, they also get impression that they are in fact feeling a virtual event, for example when user experiences a lateral hit on the controller when driving a virtual vehicle against the curb. No more poor vibrational imitations.
In order to eliminate monotonous feedback of existing controllers, MRC answers this challenge in a playful way. Based on intensive grip studies, the design team has developed a sleek and branched form that can be combined in various ways to form new gripping scenarios. In this way, players can have different feelings when holding different virtual objects looking through the VR glasses, whether it’s a steering wheel or a spear of a warrior.
