Lamborghini Egoista Concept Car to Celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary

Spectacular supercar called Lamborghini Egoista has been designed by Walter De Silva, the Head of Design for Volkswagen Group, to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. As Italian, De Silva feels pretty attached to Italian brand, therefore, he wanted to pay homage to and highlight the fact that Lamborghini cars have always been made with pure passion. If you take a look at Egoista, you’ll notice a jaw dropping car which is forged from a passion for innovation and solution, the same principle used that set Lamborghini apart from other automakers.

Be selfish and enjoy this sophisticated vehicle alone, this car has only one seat, so you don’t have to share with other people. De Silva explained that this car was made for one person only, so that they can have fun and express their own personality to the maximum. Dedicated for hyper-sophisticated people who constantly looking for extreme and special things in the world, it’s the next level of hedonism , a car without compromise because it’s so selfish (egoista).

The debut of this concept supercar was pretty spectacular, cinematic entry combined with 9 big screens in the room. Powered by 5.2-liter V10 engine, the car roared and shaked the 20-meter tensioned event structure. The cockpit features futuristic appearance, and once again inspired by the world of aviation, it can be ejected in an emergency situation.

Lamborghini Egoista Concept Car HOMAGE FOR LAMBORGHINI'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

The upper part of the vehicle does not have aerodynamic appendages, but rather flaps integrated in the bodywork profile which acts automatically depending on the driving conditions. Two rear flaps activate automatically at high speeds to increase stability, while a series of air intakes on the back of the engine hood provides the cooling air flow to the powerful V10 power plant. While the front of the vehicle has a profile intended to increase downforce, the rear is fully open with the mechanics in view, reducing weight but also with the result of creating a more aggressive look.

Futuristic Nike One 2022 Racing Car by Phil Frank Design

Futuristic Nike One 2022 Racing Car has been designed for driving simulator Grand Turismo 4. Phil Frank, the principal of Phil Frank Design, LLC explained that Nike One 2022 boasts dramatic and futuristic technology of Nike One with its athletic focus, stretched surfaces and less-is-more philosophy, just like the principles from Bill Bowerman, Nike founder. Since Nike is an athletic company, this futuristic vehicle was designed and developed from that perspective, instead of building just another fast car, the design team took the inspiration and learned from the human body, its motion and dynamics.

“The wide and narrow track widths of the car for instance are directly inspired by a sprinter in the starting blocks” explains Asano, one of Phil Frank design team, “even the asymmetric tire profile comes from the human form”. “All these design elements are there for a functional performance reason” adds Frank, “right down to the dynamic motion control of the suspension”. The Nike ONE’s innovative suspension mimics tension in the muscles and takes advantage of the asymmetric tire profile to have extreme negative camber in a straight line for minimized rolling resistance on the motorcycle like section and then maximum positive camber when cornering or breaking.

Train Wreck Bike by Colby Higgins

Train Wreck bike features steampunk style bike with awesome details. The main goal this industrial designer was to bring back iconic form into different and interesting object.

Designer’s own words:

My inspiration was derived from a lot of different sources. I have always had a fascination with old fashion mechanics. We don’t see the technology outwardly exposed enough anymore due to the rise of electronic controls. Often when interesting mechanisms are used, designers are paid to cover them with swoopy and aerodynamic looking fairings or covers. I wanted to bring back the idea of visible raw mechanics and put it into something that we can all relate to. I determined to an extent how it would actually function, and that’s what drove the design. My other goal was to prove that objects and designs can be extremely simple (not always organic) yet still have a very interesting look, in this case a couple of cylinders define the form. I didn’t even touch any heavy duty surfacing tools while making the model (Other than the seat maybe), just tedious parts and details.

Audi 2Lip : Futuristic Vehicle for Elderly People in 2050

The Audi 2Lip is a vehicle for the year 2050 designed mainly for elderly people. The whole architecture comes from the idea revolutionizing the way of accessing the vehicle overcoming possible mobility problems of the users. The front of the vehicle is divided into strips of shape memory polymer, able to open and close like a flower. In this way, the passengers can walk into the cabin, reaching the seats without obstacles. The large front platform moves downward, reducing the space between the road and the bottom of the car, this also means providing easy access for disabled people. Once the passengers have taken place, the bodywork closes gently giving an unusual view from the outside.

The characteristics of Audi 2Lip offer excellent visibility and extreme spaciousness. The entire front area is dedicated to the passengers, while the mechanical parts are gathered inside the large rear wheels. The large transparent surface that surrounds the Audi 2Lip also provides a full view of the road and of the position of the front wheels, enhancing the feeling of full control of the vehicle.

Concept Aero Truck : American Long Haul Truck for 2030 by Josh Shercliff

This design began with the idea to instead look at the American truck from an aerodynamic perspective, in a bid to increase fuel efficiency over long journeys at high speed. The sleek design and wide arches allow for a more weighted grip to the road at high speed, along with giving other road users the idea of the vehicle being safe. The canopy styled roof gives increased vision on all sides to the drivers. Heavily influenced by dynamic vehicles like formula 1 cars and drag racers this is a British look at the American truck, crossing the American ideas of power and brawn with the European ideas of performance and style to create the ultimate in a new range of aerodynamic long haul trucks.
