Capsule project started when Gavin Rea bought several succulents to go hang by his desk to save space, but couldn’t buy a product for mounting them on the wall. So he sketched, modeled and 3D printed his own planter to hold them. He designed a capsule to be functional and easy to use.

Capsule has a simple pill form intersected with each pot and tilts forward to better display the plants at eye level. It mounts to the wall using standard carriage bolts available at any hardware store. The planter itself simply slides on and off via T slots in the back. Each of the individual plant pots is removable for repotting or replacing plants and has a spiral drainage pattern to prevent water from accumulating and causing root rot. In the case of overwatering, the excess water will drain into the planter body, where it can evaporate through the planter’s open back rather than stagnating and growing algae.
