T1 Turbine Closed Cockpit Racecar Concept by Andries Van Overbeeke

T1 Turbine Closed Cockpit Racecar Concept is a project from Andries Van Overbeeke. It’s a personal project with objective trying to bring back turbine powered race cars because whether you want to admit it or not, these cars have played a short and dramatic, yet impressive part in the history of motorsports.

Two years in a row, a turbine car was leading the Indy 500, only to falter in the final few laps. The 1967 STP-Paxton and the 1968 Lotus 56 would never win a trophy: directed by fearful but politically influential opposition, regulatory restrictions ensured a quick death of the turbine.
