Based on Cigna’s survey in 2018, people aged 18 to 34 years old in Hong Kong suffer from highest level of stress. This condition affects sleep quality and duration, thus, leading to higher stress, depression, and anxiety. Sunnest is a bedside lamp that wants to improve our sleeping quality through a breathing light.
As a lamp, Sunnest provides a behavioral interaction with users to help reduce stress during sleeping. It mimics the way the sun works, we know that watching sun set slowly behind the horizon helps your body to slow down and relax, there’s something about natural phenomenon that affects your body. There’s an iris shutter of lens on top that can be twisted counter-clockwise to make the light fading out. The subtle disappearance of light relates to sunset to help relieve your body from tension and start relaxing.
Designed by King Him Ho, Sunnest Bedside Table Lamp consists of three parts. By twisting top made of black cloudy plastic, the diameter of the iris would decrease, thus the size of light projected onto the ceiling would become smaller. The top part looks like a T-Shape in order to provide an indication for placing purlicue.
