50 years after the first launch of Digitrend, AMIDA has announced its revival in 2024 with a limited “Take off Edition”. Back in the 1960s and 70s, AMIDA released futuristic digital watch, at that time, the design was out of the ordinary, a present that was infused with the taste of tomorrow. This was when we realized that it’s possible to step into a new age and leap into modernity.
Now, AMIDA has released the new version of AMIDA’s Digitrend, it is reimagined, refined, and modernized, perfected through deep commitment of a team with great enthusiasts to bring this watch back.
Featuring the same car body-style case, it is machined from a block of 316L stainless steel. But this time the new contours are refined for sleeker aesthetics and improved finishes for enhanced fluid profile. The back of the case of AMIDA Digitrend Watch will be exclusively engraved to create signature for this take off edition, it will be produced just for this revival. The new redesigned case features an open back design, it reveals sophisticated, mechanical self-winding movement of Soprod’s modern and reliable Newton caliber, offering 44 hours of power reserve.
No electronic display or luminous, thanks to innovative design of AMIDA, you can read the time through an optical effect created by a crystal in the shape of a prism. Even though the movement operates horizontally, but the “image” of the hour and minute discs is actually projected vertically.
