Omniseg is a concept design of an electric scooter for daily commute specially in huge commercial areas. It looks like a toy, yet it’s an electric four wheeled vehicle that provides you a comfortable way to travel around large areas, from convention centers, meeting venues, or outdoor activities. At first sight, it looks like a toy, but actually those four Mecanum wheels help this scooter to move forward, backward, sideways, and even diagonally without actually turning.
Yash Gupte explain that these Mecanum wheels provide sets of rollers that sit precisely 45-degree with respect to the ground. These wheels are installed in a way that the rollers point toward the center, making it possible for them to move in all directions without pivoting.
Certainly these wheels would help Omniseg Scooter easy to maneuver in tight corners. Furthermore, that non-pivotal multidirectional movement is not exclusive to this scooter, it can also be applied in wheelchairs or stretchers.
