Flo2W : An Innovative Way In Regulating Oxygen Flow To The Patient

Being in the hospital taking car his dad, James D’Arcy found out there were so many issues with the current respiratory masks. The poorly attach flimsy strap kept loosening and causing pain above the ear, the top of the mask was causing pain in the bridge of the nose and led to skin sores developing in this area. Based on this observation, Flo2w has been designed as a new medical device to deliver oxygen to a patient. It is fitted on the patient’s head using the adjustable headpiece that doesn’t need to be disposed on weekly basis. Instead, the hospital can clean it using alcohol and reused it for other patient, reducing clinical waste. The tube carrying the oxygen can be easily clipped on and off.

Flo2w design eliminates the big and intimidating one size fits all mask that is currently being used. The subtle design makes the user feel as if they are not even wearing it. There are sculpted nose buds that fit snug into the patient’s nose for comfortable feeling. Oxygen is supplied to the patient through nasal tubing. Flo2w integrates an innovative and easy way of regulating oxygen flow for both the patient and the health care professional.
