WIRE Chair started with a simple challenge: would it be possible to create a chair using just one continuous line? The designer wanted to see how far he could take that idea without losing comfort or practicality.
The frame is made from a single bent tube that not only holds the seat but also curves around to form a built-in side table. It’s the kind of feature that feels obvious once you see it, but it took a lot of sketching, trial, and error to get right. The seat itself is made from smooth plywood that follows the curve of the frame, and in the corner where the two meet, there’s a natural spot for storing small things, books, magazines, or whatever you like to keep close by.
The designer has always drawn into designs where every shape has a purpose. He doesn’t like adding things just for the sake of looks. The best designs are the ones where form and function feel like one continuous thought. Wire Lounge Chair is one of Teixeira Design Studio attempts on realizing that concept, a piece that’s practical, minimal, and feels natural in any space. It’s not flashy, but it works hard quietly, just the way he likes it.
