As part as his college project, Fábio Martins designed Volkswagen Interceptor during his second semester at the Product Design Masters from Faculdade de Arquitetura of Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. It’s a concept car designed as a service vehicle, specially Urban Patrol Vehicle of the PSP (Police of Public Security). Extensive research was done during the process, it was started by interviewing many police officers in different situations in order to get more details about the issues of their current cars and some elements they would love to have.

The result is Volkswagen Interceptor, it’s a conceptual compact vehicle with ergonomic interior to make sure ultimate comfort of its passengers. Police officers spend a lot of time riding the car to patrol around the neighborhood, it’s important to make sure they feel safe and comfortable when patrolling around urban and rural areas. As an all electric vehicle, the wheels of this car is equipped with in-wheel Elaphe electric motor that features high torque capability, efficient cooling, high degree of integrability, and low manufacturing costs.
