Twister Off-Road Vehicle Concept by Hankil Moon

There’s a famous two horns mountain (Yang-kak-san) in Korea with off road area that became the inspiration of this off-road vehicle: Twister. The environment has several challenges: rocky road, steep hill, and cross the river.

From the very start, this vehicle was designed to meet 3 requirements:

  1. It has to have a minimum velocity of 20km/h in hardcore courses
  2. The design exposes rider to the nature
  3. The seat needs to be reactive the ground in order to let driver feel the terrain

There’s certain off-road areas that mimics ski slope characteristic, that’s why the second and third requirements are crucial factors when Twister comes in contact with that terrain. One of the goals here is to make you ride down the steep hill just like a skier skiing on a steep moguled course, giving you the same heart-thumping adrenaline. To meet the first requirement, Twister has been designed with special wheels since traditional wheels are not capable to run over big rocks. The wheels feature high flexibility to stretch over big rocks and climb over them, while the lower frame uses reinforced transparent plastic to allow driver to see the ground.
