Toyota USA just released its latest concept: Toyota Calty Land Cruiser ROX. It’s getting read on the action for the 2024 SEMA show. It’s been known that Toyota Land Cruiser has become a base for modifications where owners from many generations have found their ways to adjust, tune, and build upon the basic version. The new concept generation focuses on structural rigidity front of mind, Toyota wants to build an open-air concept version, a version that pays homage to the FJ40 generation of Land cruisers. Some of the design teams were sketching and they were emotionally connected to the classic Land Cruisers, but they also infused multiple elements that connect more with the environment that you would be in.

Toyota Calty Land Cruiser ROX features open-air, roofless design, which is nothing new in the off-road world. However, the main goal of Land Cruiser ROX is to maintain the high-end feel of the stock vehicle. Every element of this vehicle has been designed to make sure that the tailgate and mid-gate can function properly, doors can continue to work seamlessly, even by eliminating the roof, the structure of this vehicle won’t be sacrificed. The process started by cutting that C-pillar in half, then removing the D-pillar, removing the top entirely. The roof is replaced with a soft top and a roll bar reinforcement welded access the C-pillars. The only glass you can see in Land Cruiser ROX is the windshield, because Toyota wants this vehicle has as few panels as possible between its passengers and the outside world.

Furthermore, Toyota also adds new bumper front and rear, a winch, new brush guards, and tire carriers to the SEMA-bound Land Cruiser. Most of weight-saving plastic elements have been removed from the vehicle, the engineering team prefers to use steel bumpers instead, making this vehicle is capable to take a hit on the trails. You can checkout the build at the SEMA show which will be set to kick off on November 5 at Las Vegas Convention Center.
