Tokyoflash Kisai Uzumaki Analog Watch by Firdaus Rohman

Tokyoflash Kisai Uzumaki analog watch was design concept from one of Tokyoflash fans, Firdaus Rohman, that received many great comments enough to convince Tokyoflash to bring this concept watch to reality. Well, we agree that this watch is indeed very cool with its unique vortex shaped lens, colorful spiral display and bright EL backlighting. Unlike other common LED watches from Tokyoflash, Kisai Uzumaki displays time in conventional analog format, easy on the eyes since it uses quartz movement.

Available in only limited edition, Tokyoflash Kisai Uzumaki analog watch is available in black or silver with blue or green display, made of entirely stainless steel. The word Uzumaki itself comes from Japanese word for whirlpool, as you can see, this is the main design theme to indicate the time in easy way, hours on the outside while the minutes on the inside. The hand indicates seconds for precise timing.

We love the attention to details, the custom curves and brushed surfaces on the case boost the appearance of the vortex, the EL backlight can be turned on by pressing the crown to illuminate the spirals in short of time for cool looking glow. The custom made acrylic lens are beautifully designed with concentric circles that descend from the edge of the case into the center of the watch, this creates a cool looking whirlpool. The stainless steel ring that surrounds the lens gives the illusion of floating above.

  1. This is pretty confusing and hard to read an exact time. Looks cool, but appears to function poorly. Designers need to remember that form follows FUNCTION.
