As an award winning design, Thumy certainly delivers a fun and cool way to administer insulin into children’s body. It’s a concept insulin kit designed specially for children ages four and over with type 1 diabetes. This concept has won many awards due to innovative design, it encourages children to take their insulin in a fun way through the use of temporary tattoos (non-toxic natural pigments) that help children to remember where they have previously injected the insulin. Children love tattoos, this project takes advantage of children’s love for drawing. The tattoo marks certain area so that they can avoid complications at the injection site.
Thumy Insulin Kit allows children to administer the insulin themselves. Designed by Renata Souza Luque, the inection pen is designed to fit into child’s hand. This intuitive and playful concept is hoped to be able to make a difficult process easier for both parents and children.
