Stella Desk Lamp Casts Beautiful Waves of Light Through Acrylic Material

In collaboration with Bonakia, a Seol-based lighting brand, COG Design studio has designed Stella desk lamp. The lamp features compact form yet highly functional. It’s a simple lighting project that constructs a basic form of lighting through repetition, transformation, and combination of geometric shapes. The result is a formative beauty through 3D dimensional changes in both direction and bending. The design team has experimented different materials for the shade, and it looks like the basic structure with simple geometric figures can deliver emotional aesthetic to a simple form.

Made of acrylic material with a triangular intaglio shape, Stella Light by COG Design Studio is a nice attempt to demonstrates the sensibility of light, what will the light look like when it’s transmitted to a detailed intaglio pattern. Thanks to the pattern, Stella can cast a light that makes unique appearance of light waves, and on these waves, the light turns into a star and dissipates.
