In Middle Ages, the eight-point star was widely used as a symbol in Islamic Art. This symbol is called “Khatim” or “Khatim Sulayman”, a.k.a the seal of prophets, as in the signet ring. Some Zellige artisans usually refer to the eight-point star as “Sibniyyah”, “Sabniyyah”, which is a derivative of the number seven “Sab’ah”.
Inspired by this beautiful symbol, Rafael Maia has designed Star of The Orient Incense Burner. Nowadays, this symbol carries religious and mystical associations. It consists of two main parts: gold-plated brass for the eight-point star top and wooden body for the bottom part. Designed to complement the beauty of your home décor, this incense burner boasts minimalist aesthetics. It blends perfectly with your contemporary décor, standing majestically without taking away focus from the focal points in the room. Watching that smoke rising from the top can be hypnotic, reducing anxiety and stress.
