A luxurious motor yacht, powered by solar energy for free, clean fuel has been developed by Duffy London. The company presents Solaris Global Cruiser, it’s a medium sized concept yacht, perfect for these sustainable technologies. This yacht provides an enclosed environment, almost entirely, it needs to generate its own power, fresh water, and deal with its waste responsibly.
Some people might still think it’s impossible to depend on just solar energy to operate a yacht. Fortunately, solar panel and battery technologies are growing rapidly where they own form of Moore’s Law, which is used for computer processing power. It is possible to apply this version of the law to make this concept yacht a feasible one.
Most of luxury motor yachts spend their lifetime resting in ports and harbors, when they travel, they have to spend expensive and dirty fuel, which is devastating for the environment. Not to mention that this yacht can operate in only short distance before it requires refuelling. Duffy London explains that Solaris Global Cruiser uses rest periods to maintain and keep this vessel fully fuelled, it also continues to generate energy whilst traveling. Living luxurious lifestyle is still possible in an environmentally friendly way, it provides you with a level of freedom and independence that fossil fuel yachts could never do.
