No more wires. Cohda Design believes the future is wireless, the company has developed an innovative system to deliver power through glass invisibly. Power-Tap (P-Tap) utilizes transparent conductive coatings to transfer power to any device, no wires required. Basically, P-Tap is a transparent lamination of conductive and non-conductive glass with smart arrangement that allows power or data to be transferred among individual layers within the lamination. Pre-machined apertures create taps to the positive and negative charged inner coatings that supply power delivery to those embedded devices. Any connected device would look floating freely within this optically clear glass panel without any visible power connection, just like magic.
Use P-Tap as your transparent kitchen countertop or wall, it removes the need for wires, giving architects, designers, and engineers limitless design opportunities where they can locate powered devices within transparent structures. Cohda Design explains that P-Tap allows devices such as USB sockets, digital displays, induction charging pads, motors, cameras or sensors to be seamlessly integrated. This new technology can be applied to multitude of markets such as automotive, retail, architecture, security, lighting, and many more.
