As child’s second home, Pony Running Daycare Showroom has been designed with bright and shiny colors. The yellow color represents the world of joy, a sunshine out of grayness of the city outside separated by giant transparent glass. Located in Shenzhen, China, Pony Running Daycare interior design features warm atmosphere that flows continuously through time and space, it promotes spiritual growth of children. Even though this showroom is surrounded by a forest of reinforced concrete, once you step inside, you’ll feel friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Pony Running, just like its name suggests, this place is designed in a way that goes beyond boundaries of traditional thinking, giving children invisible wings of freedom in this mini universe full of possibilities.

Since Pony Running would be an early childhood education institution, it is crucial that the design features rich teaching system. There’s a small class structure that stands at the core of its educational concept, it focuses on the personality needs and potential of every child. The interior design was inspired by the emerging approach of an “Earth Building” found in the Western Architectural “School of Natural Life” where the use of adult “decoration” techniques was completely abandoned. The interior highlights only beauty and fun of the building itself, letting children be children in a fun and free environment.

As modern educational space, Pony Running Daycare Showroom blends decoration and practicality in harmony. No redundant ornaments, all shapes are reduced to the minimum expression, no meaningless decorations, each one has been carefully considered to contribute to a healthy activity for children. On this basis, both spatial integration and color matching use the “simplest” techniques to highlight a natural and essential temperament, eventually devoting all the space to the children.

Adopting an open design for the entire social area, yet several corners are designed to become “nests” where children can enjoy some alone time such as reading a book or play games. They can freely choose their favorite location at any given time. Every corner is still within teacher’s sight, it offers a comfortable feeling of privacy for children yet they are still under the teacher’s radar. Everything from materials to design style has been designed to provide a high degree of safety, in this way, children can move freely while teachers participate and guide activities without restraining them. This system stimulates children to learn to think during play and develop their personalities.
