Progressive GT is a concept study for Polestar, a GT for a new era of electric vehicle. It’s a personal project that explores the evolution of traditional Gran Turismo that embraces design opportunities unlocked by an electric platform. It’s still inline with Polestar’s vision of creating a pure electric vehicle. Since there’s no need to accommodate a front combustion engine, the layout of this vehicle allows for forward-thinking architecture, reducing front volume for better aerodynamic feature, the cabin is extended forward, allowing for better visibility and offering a sense of openness for passengers. The overall design provides a refined balance between performance and comfort.
Polestar Progressive GT Concept by Emmanuel Hernandez Cortes explores the possibility of applying advanced technical sophistication into expressive volumes. It sets a foundation for its visual identity. The result captures the spirit of GT while redefining its boundaries through possibilities of electric architecture. Emmanuel explains that this concept reflects his personal vision for Polestar, minimalist design with emotional identity through expressive volumes, clarity, and forward-thinking intent.
The sketch started back in 2019 with clear thematic direction, it captured strong vision for Polestar when the brand just launched its first vehicle “Polestar 1”. In the late 2024, Emmanuel decided to move forward into 3D realization to refine surface transitions and spatial detailing with greater precision. The overall design language stays true to the original vision, it’s a progressive GT-inspired concept that features advanced technical sophistication through expressive and resonant volumes.
