Submitted by Subinay Malhotra, this Plexus project is about developing a three dimensional joinery system to create modular units adapting to a range of products from furniture to architectural supports. Altering, designing, and finishing metal forms into generative meshes, uniquely inspired by nature, incorporating material reduction and supporting sustainability.
Plexus Modular Metal Joinery offers value to customers as well as the industry to create a modular unit that is easy to manufacture and easy to assembly. Taking references from digital fabrications based on natural generative structures and creating a product that can be ideated using the 3d printed techniques and software algorithms. Providing the plating industry to create finishes on the product that enhances the aesthetic value and gives strength for indoor and outdoor usage.
Subinay Malhotra explored various finishing techniques on generative patterns referred by adapting nature. This research has resulting in unique biomorphic structure, enhancing the aesthetics and functional property of the product, using the metal finishes.
Tuvie received “Plexus – Modular Metal Joinery” project from our ‘Submit A Design‘ feature, where we welcome our readers to submit their design/concept for publication.
