Platypus Craft 28-Foot Semi-Submersible Catamaran Allows You To Cruise Above and Below The Water

Platypus Craft 28-foot semi-submersible catamaran was introduced as a concept a decade ago, however, you might see it by early 2025 according to the company. Playtypus has dreamt about underwater recreation, this company has collaborated with Evoy, a Norwegian start-up, to produce electric propulsion system for a sustainable future. This partnership is hoped to enable Platypus Craft to push boundaries of what’s possible in marine exploration.

This line of catamaran consists of multiple vessels that allow passengers to cruise both above and below the water. Each design features a catamaran-style hull and a “basket” vessel which can be lowered into the water. This basket can accommodate up to six passengers with easy-to-use breathing devices. It means that everyone can explore underwater world without the need of diving certifications.

Platypus Craft 28-foot semi-submersible catamaran will be equipped with twin Evoy Breeze outboards which can produce 120 horses. The use of electric motors eliminates fuel slicks, bilge water, and noise, it won’t disturb surrounding marine environment, not to mention it’s emissions-free as well. Sail across the waves at cruising speed of 15 knots, it can reach a top speed of 25 knots. You can travel underwater at more relaxing pace between three or five knots. The battery delivers between 30 and 80 nautical miles of range, there’s a dedicated diving battery pack that allows between six to 12 hours of underwater autonomy.
