PCNC. Parker is a concept service robot designed specifically for park maintenance. It is capable to perform diverse activities in outdoor space such as festivals or parks. This robot can manage an entire park maintenance cycle such as food delivery, handling seat rentals, waste disposal post-meal consumption, so yes, it works as a last-mile delivery service. Visitor numbers are increasing in the park area, yet infrastructure management in urban park stays the same. That’s why most park visitors have expressed their dissatisfaction with park facilities and infrastructure.
YuJoung Kim teamed up with ChangJun Eun to design futuristic robot for urban park, PCNC. Parker wants to encourage visitors to visit and enjoy the park as often as possible. Urban spaces should be accessible to everyone. Unfortunately, due to many different reasons, many people are still reluctant to spend their time in the public park, such as lack of facilities or low information accessibility. Parker Robot can be utilized to provide information to visitors, it can also manage overall park ecosystem such as food delivery, facility guidance, density monitoring, and waste collector to keep the park clean. The triangular design language is employed to minimize volume during park strolls, ensuring seamless alignment with the user’s line of sight. The angles of the triangle are designed for optimal comfort when users are seated and for efficient loading.
Visitors can use a mobile app to check park’s conditions thanks to multiple inputs from PCNC. Parker Robot. It is possible to rent furniture to arrange a rest area at desired locations, these robots would transport furniture modules from park entrance hubs to designated locations.
