Satoshi Tai, Executive Design Director, explains that designing a car to appeal this specific generation would need us to intentionally not use knowledge and tried-and-true approaches they had known before. Typically, auto-makers try to convey a sense of acceleration, power, or supreme quality, however, these features don’t resonate well with share natives, in fact, those values might not be relevant to their lifestyles anymore.

Based on extensive researches done by Nissan, Share Natives generation feels that the time spent in a car should be time for connecting and sharing experiences with friends. Therefore, old values of a car might not be attractive to them anymore. Nissan Teatro for Dayz concept has been designed in a way so that the entire car serves as a platform for inspiration, allowing passengers and driver to connect with friends, design personal experiences, and display an attitude and freely share them.

Boasting “Future Canvas” interior concept, all you can see inside are solid white seats, a steering wheel, and 2 pedals. You can transform the appearance according to your wish, the image display technology supports this concept greatly, turning seats, headrests, instrument panel, and even door trim into a moving screen. It means the interior can be visually altered according to your mood.

A steering wheel and a flat instrument panel can be pretty confusing, but Nissan believes that conventional knobs and switches would only limit display arrangement and expression. Nissan preferred to adopt voice control and motion sensors for AC and audio systems of this futuristic concept car. In drive mode, meters and navigation data are displayed on the instrument panel, but in parked mode, everything is disappear.
