Weed Lamp represents wilderness and freedom from the designer’s childhood. He spent a lot of time outdoor with his grandma where she taught him how to identify different grasses, make food from natural materials, she has left a lasting impression to the designer. She even taught him how to make a rabbit out of dog tail grass.

As the light an also mean wilderness and freedom, Weed Lamp is designed to remind you of a beautiful wild plant. Jinying Cheng, the designer, wanted to create a portable light that can be detached from its base when needed. It’s a small desk lamp that provides soft light, turning your space into calm and relaxing atmosphere. When you need an emergency light, simply take the stem out of the base and carry it with you.
