LG Mobile Phones, in association with crowdSPRING, an online marketplace for creative services, and Autodesk, the leading 2D and 3D design and engineering software producer, has announced the third LG annual design the future contest to characterize the future of mobile communication. The main goal of the innovative effort is to give the opportunity to the consumers to design a revolutionary next-generation LG mobile phone that reflects their passion and fulfill their future requirements. This year, over 40 winners will be awarded with $80,000 cash in total along with other alluring presents. Autodesk will provide the participants a 15-days free trial of SketchBook Pro which features an intuitive, streamlined user interface that even new users can operate easily to create their dream phone. Submission of design began on March 15, 2010 and will remain open till April 26, 2010, winners of the competition will be announced on May 14, 2010 at http://www.crowdspring.com/LG/winners
Competition Details
Eligibility: Any U.S. resident (citizen or green card holder) that is 18 years (or age of majority in state of residence) and older
Start and End Dates: The competition begins on March 15, 2010, at 12 a.m. PST and ends on April 26, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. PST

• First Place: $20,000 Cash Award + 1 Wacom Intuos4 medium tablet (ARV of $349) + Autodesk industrial design software (ARV of $500)

I would love to enter this as I have a good mind for creating concept-phones. However I don't live in the US and can't afford AutoCad Inventor which is what I use at work and is great for 3D modelling. Ah well, maybe some other day.
