Designed by Marcus Wainwright, Leica has released Leica M Monochrom special “Stealth Edition”. Wainwright is a founder and an owner of fashion label “rag & bone”, he is also a dedicated Leica photographer who often shoots in black and white using his M6. The “Stealth Edition” means that they seriously take unobtrusiveness of a camera to the extreme, it uses special scratch-resistant, matte paint to create the surface finish as black as possible. Combined with matching jet-black, leather trim for excellent grip, this Leica camera is certainly visually striking.
Leica M Monochrom offers photographers a modern tool that helps them to power and presence of black-and-white photography to express their creativity. This is the refined successor to the world’s first digital black-and-white full-frame camera.
The special feature of the design is engravings on the camera and lens, they are intentionally highlighted by the use of special fluorescent paint that glows in the dark. This would allow faster setting of aperture or focusing of the lens in low-light situations. This special edition camera is limited for only 125 units for worldwide market, each piece has a special serial number.
