In collaboration with EPFL+ECAL Lab and HEIG-VD, Fabien Roy has designed a smart rehab knee brace, KNEET. It’s an all connected knee brace with a dedicated personal coach for sportsmen during their home rehab after a knee injury. According to Swiss Medical Review, knee rehab has become major issue, most often than not, patients are not well mentored when they practice at home. This has become main factor that causes recurrence of injuries.
Designed by Fabien Roy, developed in context of the China Hardware Innovation Camp led by the EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), KNEET Smart rehab knee brace is equipped with multiple sensors, integrated into knitted fabric. These sensors would then transmit data onto an app via device and a Bluetooth connection. The smart algorithm of app would analyze your injury and suggest what exercises to do, count the number of occurences, and measure the angle of the flexion.
