Karbikes wants to deliver an innovative concept mobility that could reshape our future of zero emission commuting. It’s a hybrid vehicle, placing itself between a cargo bike and an electric micro city car, it’s a personal vehicle that you can rely on in urban environment.
Focusing on sustainability, efficiency and comfort in mind, the design blends lightness of bike with the comfort of a car. Resulting in a unique and eco-friendly solution for daily travel. As a four-wheel vehicle, Karbikes features sturdy frame with ultra-light aluminum shell that protects the rider and passenger from wind and rain. Karbikes can accommodate two adults or one adult with two children.
Gaëlle Richard and Lucas Vançon teamed up with Christopher Santerre to bring Karbikes to live. Measuring 800mm in width, this hybrid vehicle can reach 25km/h, an ideal vehicle for commuting in the city. The integrated electrically-assisted pedaling system is equipped with automatic gears and a 750Wh battery, promising a smooth ride for all. There’s a spacious trunk with loading capacity of up to 400 liters.
It’s not just concept, Karbikes is planned to be manufactured of ten units for its first batch in the city of French, a city known for its extensive cycling network. Hopefully, production will increase gradually and reach hundreds of units per year.
