Japandi Lamp is a personal project from Natalia Pogudina, she works with paper a lot and one day she decided why not creating bedside lamp with pleated lampshade. After experimenting for about two months, she started to find the ideal configuration, created several 3D models from several different papers, and started gluing together to find the best result. Apparently, it took 4 days just to glue one lampshade, making her spent around a month and a half to create several identical prototypes.
Natalia Pogudina said that she glued several lamp bases in the form of a vase, but she didn’t like any of them. That’s when she got the idea to make a base on three legs, together with the unique lamp shade, Japandi Lamp was born. This simple project could be a nice warm up for anyone in the path of trying to earn bachelor’s degree in product design, just try and make their own lamp.
