Hottie Heat Therapy Belt promises relief from cramping pains in lower abdomen due to menstruation every month. Hottie is a discreet and modern belt that’s more than just wearable tech, it’s a lifeline for those who face the physical toll of menstruation each month. Designed by German design students Marc Hackländer and Elisabeth Lorenz, Hottie does what painkillers often can’t: it comforts, warms, and empowers.
Winner of the 2025 Rimowa Design Prize, Hottie Belt is a quiet revolution in personal wellness. With its minimalist silhouette and soft-touch materials, it doesn’t announce itself as a medical device and that’s the point. Instead of trying to hide and deal with the pain, why not reclaiming control in a way that feels natural, dignified, and even stylish.
But behind the aesthetics of Hottie Belt, there’s a serious tech: TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) combined with targeted heat therapy. Together, they deliver a two-pronged approach—gently blocking pain signals and stimulating endorphin production, all while providing comforting warmth to the lower abdomen.
The technology isn’t new, but the delivery is. What makes Hottie remarkable is how it’s worn, how it feels, and how it’s intended to blend into real life. The design is intentionally low-profile, made to be slipped on under clothes whether you’re curled up at home or navigating a meeting at work. It’s as if your body finally had a say in the design brief.
