Hidden Vase Was Inspired By How Chicken Waterer Works

Started in 2011, Hidden Vase was born as a project for the Spanish The Plant Journal. Designed by Chris Kabel, this project started as a research on how to make a vase disappear, inspired by the way a chicken waterer works.

Thanks to Frank Bruggeman, this project was concluded in a photographic registration of the initial research for the Plant Journal. As you can see from below photos, those flowers are placed around a water container to make them seem growing directly from the plate. Chris said that he wanted the vase to appear invisible, yet it should also become an autonomous object that could maintain itself.
